Michael Saylor's View on Bitcoin

"Bitcoin is a swarm of cyberhornets serving the goddess of wisdom, feeding on the fire of truth, exponentially growing ever smarter, faster, and stronger behind a wall of encrypted energy," the executive chairman and co-founder of MicroStrategy once said.

Bank in Cyberspace

"Bitcoin is a bank in cyberspace, run by incorruptible software, offering a global, affordable, simple and secure savings account to billions of people that don't have the option or desire to run their own hedge fund," Saylor added.

MicroStrategy's Bitcoin Investments

On the first day of spring, MicroStrategy acquired 9,245 bitcoins for $623 million. This was part of a larger scheme as the company disclosed the purchase of a significant amount of bitcoin between March 11 and March 18.

MicroStrategy recently completed a $603.75 million convertible debt offering to fund the bitcoin purchases, increasing its bitcoin holdings to approximately $13.5 billion.

They hold more than 1% of the total 21 million bitcoins, acquiring them at an average price of $35,160 per coin.

MicroStrategy's Commitment to Bitcoin

During a recent earnings call, MicroStrategy's management reiterated their commitment to the bitcoin strategy. The company considers itself the first bitcoin development company, actively participating in financial markets, advocacy, and technological innovation related to bitcoin.

The CEO mentioned that 2024 will mark the institutionalization of bitcoin as an asset class, indicating a highly optimistic outlook regarding the future of the cryptocurrency's adoption and growth.

Bitcoin Performance

Despite challenges and fluctuations, bitcoin has shown significant growth, with Saylor attributing its success to the digital transformation of capital.

While past years presented obstacles and setbacks, the recent surge and institutional interest in bitcoin indicate a positive trajectory for the cryptocurrency.

As MicroStrategy continues to lead in bitcoin investment, it aims to pave the way for other companies to follow suit in incorporating bitcoin into their financial strategies.
